France Has a Plan to Ban Under-15s from Social Media

France is leading the way with its digital regulation legislation, as the country wants to ban social media use among children under the age of 15. This is because the use of social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat, among others, is increasingly damaging the mental well-being of children. The French government recognizes the fact that children are most exposed to cyberbullying, damaging content, and too much time on social media, among others, when their mental resilience is still developing.
In this new plan, social sites will be mandated to impose tough age verification standards. Unlike previously adopted measures, where parental consent was used, this policy targets a clear-cut classification based on age, without shifting the burden to parents. The new policy is part of a bigger move aimed at guarding children online, together with tough measures for smartphone use in schools.

Call Against Afghan-Based Terror Groups

This has made Pakistan and China jointly reiterate calls for strong action against terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory-one of the key regional security topics that dominated early 2026. Visible and verifiable steps to ensure Afghan soil is not used to plan or launch attacks against the neighboring states were underlined by both countries during high-level diplomatic talks.

Pakistan has long complained that militant groups, especially the TTP, keep finding safe havens across the border in Afghanistan. The country asserts that attacks across borders have gone up, affecting internal security and stability negatively. China regards regional terrorism as a threat to overall peace, economic development, and projects like the CPEC.

PAkistan woman adopt childrain

A couple from Pakistan was at the focal point of a viral video after they left their five-month-old twins in the care of a security personnel at Qianling Mountain Park in Guiyang, a popular resort in southwest China. The Pakistani nationals, said to be in their late 20s or early 30s, requested the security personnel to take care of their offspring while they went for a ride in a cable car while leaving the babies in their baby carriages with no contact details.

The video, uploaded on platforms such as Douyin (Chinese TikTok), went viral in a short while with millions of views. The crowd, along with the security guard named Chen Daying, tried to calm the crying babies by rocking their carriers, bottle-feeding them, and even changing a diaper. An hour later, the couple came back with ice cream and thanked everyone in Chinese and then left with the babies.

Fewer Immoral Online Content (by Government Count)

Recent reports from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority state that the level of so-called “immoral and unlawful” content that can be found online has reduced significantly over the last year. According to data provided by the Government, over 88,000 URLs that hold such content have been blocked, and as an effect, there has been a reduction of 20 percent in such content.

Proponents of this proposed policy believe that as society becomes more digital, there needs to be more oversight in order to protect societal values, as well as children and families. It is believed that with more government control, there will be less harmful content and that the internet will become an overall safe place, particularly for children who spend more time online.
